It's hard to believe that he's now 9, but our dear ol'Fredman still has the heart of youngster.
So 8 1/2 years ago we ventured into cardidom. An ice storm to get Fred and Phoebe, then 12 inches of snow that those two had never seen before. I swear it took me over 2 hours to get them inside the house after we got home. To this day, snow is Fred's favorite thing. Okay, anything having to do with water-snow, ice, rain, creek, wading pool, sprinklers and hoses. He even taught his newest grandkids the joys of the pool the other day.
Fred has done it all-conformation champion, juniors dog, obedience, rally, agility, herding, therapy dog and a certain boy's best dog. I think Alec would be lost without him. He's a snuggler, controller of the fun at the Gibson Ranch, mud puppy and chief greeter. Believe me when I say that you must pass Fred's inspection to come into the house.
And to top it off, Fred will be a great grandpa towards the end of August as Russ has sired his first litter. Check out Russ' blog for details later in the month.
Happy Barkday to the best brindle dog around! I know you have a special place in a lot of people's hearts.
Later gators...
